PORTABLE WIRELESS DEVICE FOR READING, TRANSMITTING AND REPRODUCING MULTI-MEDIA INFORMATION

Novelty: a portable wireless device able to recognize Radio Frequency Identification-RFID tags and reproduce correlative multi-media information matching the user’s profile (language, age etc) is disclosed. Other possibilities: memorization of tags according to their recognition order, memorization of the user’s answers in interactive games and wireless communication via a receiver assisting the interchange of related data. Technical features: the device in question is able to maximize the lifespan of the duration of the battery charge by allowing the energy consumption of each operational section solely when absolutely necessary; being contained into a specially-designed and ergonomically-shaped shell, said device is accompanied with a base which is connected to a personal computer to allow in one hand the wireless interchange of data between the portable device and the computer and in the other hand the charging of the battery. Embodiment: the basic use of the invented device is related to systems designed to correlate and retrieve location-based information (e.g. inter alia, guiding systems, information in exhibitions and museums, exploration systems and knowledge discovery systems for children).
