PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food container for heating in a microwave oven for cooking food very deliciously in a short time by a pressure cooking effect by holding a high pressure situation in a container body at the time of heating in the microwave oven so as to obtain a cooking function equivalent to a rice cooker or a pressure cooker. SOLUTION: A food container for heating in microwave oven, consists of a container body 1 of an upper opening type and a lid 2 for plugging the upper opening part of the container body 1. The center of the bottom of the container body 1 is swell-formed upward to form a swelling part 3 whose center projects upward to be highest. A valve mechanism 4 for discharging steam to outside when steam pressure in the container body 1 covered by the lid 2 reaches to a prescribed high pressure is provided at the lid 2, and a pressing member 5 for press-holding the lid 2 to prevent it from being removed from the container body 1 in this prescribed high pressure situation is provided there.
