PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antioxidative extract exhibiting an anti-high cholesterol activities, an anti-arteriosclerosis activities or the like, and useful for a food or the like by including an aryltetralin derivative extracted from a Japanese plum or the like with an extractant selected from water, ethanol and acetic acid. SOLUTION: This antioxidative extract contains an aryltetralin derivative of formula I (R1 to R6 are each H, hydroxy or methoxy; R7 and R8 are each H or a sugar-residue) extracted from a Japanese plum or a plant of Japanese plum tree with an extractant selected from water, ethanol and acetic acid, e.g. lynoniresinol of formula II. Preferably, an antioxidative food such as a (non)alcoholic drink, a pasty food, a powdery food and a sherbet-like food, or an antioxidative seasoning is prepared by adding the antioxidative extract to the food or the various seasoning. |
