<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the clad plate of aluminum and stainless steel, which is excellent in formability and a joining property, can be inexpensively manufactured without performing a preliminary treatment such as plating and by using a thin aluminum sheet as a stock. SOLUTION: When welding a stock aluminum sheet of 0.03 to 0.3 mm thickness on at least one side of a stainless steel sheet and rolling it, after placing the stainless steel sheet whose temperature (Ts) just before rolling is in a temperature range of 300 to 500 deg.C upon the stock aluminum sheet whose temperature is in room temperature, they are joined and rolled under a condition satisfying an inequality: (7.053×10-4×Ts-2.683)logTs+7.520<=logr<=(0.415-6.323×10-5×Ts) logTs+0.580.
