PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the assembly workability of the cap device for a liquid discharge head. SOLUTION: The cap device 10 comprising an elastic material with a concave crosssectional shape sealing the nozzle face 4a of an inkjet head 4 (a liquid discharge head) has a cap body 22b having through holes 22d in the bottom wall portion 22 thereof, an absorber 23 housed while closely contacting the inside of the cap body 22 and having through holes 23a being in communication the through holes 22d and passing through from the upper face to the lower face, a cap holder 21 having a concave crosssectional shape for inwardly housing the cap body 22 while closely contacting the same and through of which bottom wall portion 21b holes 21f to be engaged being in communication with the respective through holes 22d, 23a pass, a pushing member 24 having a pushing body portion 24a contacting the upper face of the absorber 23, pin portions 24b protruding downward from the pushing body portion 24a, and engaging portions 24c arranged in the front end of the pin portions 24b.
