SOLUTION: The inkjet recording apparatus includes a plurality of subtanks having a volume-variable ink storing member stored inside, a pressure buffer which connects spaces between each subtank of the plurality of subtanks and the ink storing member, a pressure-reducing pump which reduces the pressure inside the pressure buffer, a differential valve provided in each subtank so that the spaces inside each subtank communicates with the atmosphere and pressure gauges for detecting pressure Pb inside the pressure buffer and for detecting pressure Ps inside the spaces in each subtank. The pressure inside the pressure buffer is reduced by the pressure-reducing pump, and the pressure Ps inside the spaces in each subtank and the pressure Pb inside the pressure buffer are controlled to satisfy the relationship Pb
