<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate, a planar light source device, and a transmission image display device with improved straight-travelling properties of light while securing freedom of designing. <P>SOLUTION: The transmission image display device 1 has a convex lens part 21 formed at a side face 11c of the light guide plate 11. With this, light from a light source 10 is further squeezed inside the light guide plate 11, as compared with a case in which the side face 11c of the light guide plate 11 is of a flat face, so that straight-travelling properties of light can be enhanced. Furthermore, in the transmission image display device 1, light from the light source 10 is made refracted from a surface of the convex lens part 21 to be incident. With this, it is possible to restrain an aspect ratio of the convex lens part 21, as compared with a conventional case in which light incident from the light source into the light guide plate is made totally reflected inside the convex part for straight travel, hence, freedom of designing can also be secured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
