PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous characters from being displayed on a display screen when a display language at an operating display part of an image forming apparatus is switched to a language different from a character-input language. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having the operating display part, the display language displayed on the display screen of the operating display part can be selectively switched, and as to the input characters that cannot be displayed on the display screen by switching the display language, predetermined symbols or codes are displayed in the display positions of input characters that cannot be displayed.
