PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper release device which can exhibit a successful release performance with the help of a blast directed to a plate cylinder by a blast means and perform an appropriate release operation while avoiding a trouble to a stencil, and a paper release method, a printing device and a printing method using the paper release device/method. SOLUTION: This paper release device employs a plurality of release members 10 and 84, arranged in the rotating direction R of the plate cylinder 12, finding their way through the stencil 64 and a sheet of paper P to perform a release operation, and the blast means 140 which sends a blast to the plate cylinder 12 so as to perform a release operation. In this case, the intensity of the blast by the blast means 140 can be heightened when the release operation is performed by the release member 10, of the release members 10 and 84, positioned on the upstream side in the direction R. Further, when the release operation is performed with regard to the stencil 64 where a plurality of makeup images are formed in the direction R, the intensity of the blast by the blast means 140 is lessened to the part, of the stencil 64, which is not yet pressed to the plate cylinder 12 rather than to the part which is already pressed to the plate cylinder 12.
