<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of avoiding a situation that a temperature of hot water at a lower part of a hot water storage tank rises to a system stop temperature to cause power generation to be stopped, which is caused by continuation of a state where there is no usage (supply) of the hot water in the hot water storage tank. <P>SOLUTION: In the case that a temperature of hot water at a lower part in a hot water storage tank 109 rises, and there is a possibility that the temperature reaches a stop temperature of a fuel cell system 101, a controller 106 transmits to a communication notification device 103 via the Internet an image signal that prompts a user to use hot water for continuation of power generation, or a signal to guide by sound. If a predetermined time period lapses with no hot-water supply operations performed by the user, drainage means 713 operates to drain the hot water, and thereby, water is supplied to the lower part of the hot water storage tank. Accordingly, the stop of power generation caused by the temperature of hot water at the lower part in the hot water storage tank 109 reaching the stop temperature of the fuel cell system 101, can be avoided.
