Movable information panels

Various techniques, methods and apparatus are disclosed. In some example embodiments, a movable information panel may be moved to be displayed as a tabbed web page, moved to a different application window, or docked to a horizontal or vertical panel bar. Other example embodiments are also disclosed.

1. A computer implemented method comprising:
displaying, through operation of a processor, an information panel that is associated with a first tabbed web page of a browser window, the information panel including a graphical user interface (GUI) configured to display a GUI object; initiating, through operation of the processor, a drag-and-drop operation that causes the processor, in response to the drag-and-drop operation, to:
disassociate the information panel from the first tabbed web page;move a location of the information panel to a tab strip where one or more tabs are located;generate a new tab, the new tab being associated with a second tabbed web page of the browser window;associate the information panel with the second tabbed web page; and displaying the information panel in the new tab.
