PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly plate the whole surface of a rotor and to improve the wear resistance by forming the inner wall of electrode dies into the shape corresponding to the outer surface of the rotor. SOLUTION: The inner wall 1a of the electrode die 1 is formed into recesses and projections corresponding to the outer surface of the rotor main body 6 and fins 7 of a rotor 2 for a rubber kneading machine. Thereby, the space between the inner wall 1a and the outer surface of the rotor main body 6 and fins 7 housed and arranged through a spacer in the electrode die 1 is controlled to almost const., which maintains the potential around the rotor to const. By dipping the electrode die 1 and the rotor 2 for a rubber kneading machine together in a plating liquid 4 and energizing the electrode die 1 and the rotor 2 for a rubber kneading machine, a hard chromium plating is deposited on the surfaces of the rotor main body 6 and fins 7. Thus, even when the surfaces of the rotor main body 6 or fins 7 are in a complicated form with three- dimensionally curved planes, uniform plating can be applied on the whole surface.
