PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified production process for first and second shape steels by providing the same cross section to the steels fitted both similarly inside an outer fixed shape member formed by extrusion and simply abutting end to end thereof respectively. SOLUTION: A first shape steel 3 for a guide rail 1 has a substantially U-shaped cross section, and is provided with two vertical side flanges and two folded flanges to form clearance for housing a movable shape member. The first shape steel 3 is fitted inside an outer fixed shape member 11 without clearance. The outer fixed shape member 11 is made of light alloy or plastics and is formed by extrusion. The guide rail 1 is provided with not only one but first and second shape steels 3, 33. Both of the shape steels are disposed in the single outer fixed shape member 11 by simply abutting end to end thereof respectively. Therefore, production of long shape steel can relatively be simplified.
