PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow anyone to easily make a rubbed copy at low costs without employing a wood printing method or without using heavy materials such as stones. SOLUTION: A semirigid synthetic resin board is bonded onto a base board composed of veneer woods to provide a base, and a stencil paper, on which characters or the like are written, is adhered onto the base, and the characters depicted on the stencil paper are cut through to form cut portions through the base corresponding to the characters. A sheet 8 for making rubbed copies is placed on the upper side of the resin board having cut portions, and a spray is blown onto the sheet 8, and by tapping the sheet from above, recesses are formed on the sheet 8 corresponding to the cut portions of the base, following which by tapping flat portions of the sheet 8 using a tampon impregnated with Japan ink, Japan ink is applied to portions of the sheet 8 other than the portions corresponding to the characters, thereby forming characters, written with a writing bush, in while color on the portions of the sheet 8 corresponding to the cut portions of the base.
