PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple bookbinder employing a spiral coil, which has a simple structure, a high portability and can be used easily. SOLUTION: In this bookbinder, a plurality of sheets of paper 20 are integrally bound together by inserting the spiral coil in the sheets of the paper 20, in each of which a plurality of holes 22 are bored at fixed intervals. In a first embodiment, the spiral coil, the pitch of which is one and the same one of a series of the holes, is used. In a second embodiment, a closely wound coil is used. In order to insert the closely wound coil 2 in the holes 22 of the paper 20, a coil guider 10 is prepared. The coil guider 10 is equipped with one and the same pitch as that of a series of the holes 22 and has an engaging part formed at its end part so as to connect the closely wound coil 2. The coil guider 10 is passed through the holes 22 under the state being followed by the closely wound coil 2 in order to integrally bind a plurality of sheets of the paper 20 together. In addition, a coil roller, which proceeds a pedestal 3 holding down the papers uniformly from their back sides and the spiral coil 2 under the condition being held them down from above, is used.
