A process for the production of cyclic amine substituted phenyl-alkyl ketone compounds comprises aminolysis of a p-halophenylalkyl ketone with a cyclic amine in water at at least 130[deg]C. A process for the production of cyclic amine substituted phenyl-alkyl ketone compounds (I) of formula (1) comprises aminolysis of a p-halophenylalkyl ketone of formula (2) with a cyclic amine of formula (3) in water at at least 130[deg]C.
