SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A DELAY IN A COMPUTER NETWORK

A system includes a computing device, a wireless computing unit and a network management arrangement ("NMA"). NMA receives first and second signals from the computing device, forwards the second signal to the unit and receives a third signal from the unit which is a receipt acknowledgment of the second signal. NMA determines a first time value ("TV") indicative of a difference between a time of receipt of the first signal and a time of receipt of the second signal. NMA compares first TV to a first threshold range ("TR") to generate a first output data ("OD") and determines a second TV indicative of a difference between a time of transmission of the second signal and a time of receipt of the third signal. NMA compares second TV to a second TR to generate second OD. NMA executes a response procedure as a function of first and/or second OD.
