<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve lifter with a valve deactivation mechanism capable of reducing weight and thickness in a height direction of the valve deactivation mechanism part of the valve lifter. <P>SOLUTION: The valve lifter 100 includes the valve deactivation mechanism part 120 built on a valve lifter body 110. The deactivation mechanism part 120 is provided with an upper plate 130, a lower plate 140, a slide pin 200 provided in a cylinder chamber 160 formed in the upper and the lower plates and reciprocating in a direction perpendicular to a valve shaft, and a return spring 210 biasing the slide pin 200. The upper and the lower plates are joined by a joining member or a joining projection. The slide pin 200 is slid according to hydraulic pressure and enables deactivation of a valve by opening and closing a valve stem insertion hole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
