PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high dielectric constant nanocomposite, a method of manufacture thereof, and an article comprising the same. SOLUTION: The high dielectric constant nanocomposite is a composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, and nanoparticles wherein the nanoparticles comprise a substrate upon which is disposed a coating composition and wherein the substrate has a different dielectric constant from that of the coating composition. The high dielectric constant nanocomposite is a composition comprising a polymeric material and nanoparticles wherein the nanoparticles comprise a substrate upon which is disposed a coating composition comprising a plurality of layers and wherein at least one layer has a dielectric constant that is different from the remaining layers. The method comprises blending the polymeric resin with the nanoparticles to form the composition wherein the nanoparticles comprise the substrate upon which is disposed the coating composition comprising a plurality of layers and wherein at least one layer has a dielectric constant that is different from those of the remaining layers.
