PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus securing a stable image by eliminating soiling a scorotron discharging apparatus with a cleaning apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with; an image carrier, the scorotron discharging apparatus carrying out charging or destaticizing process to the image carrier, and the cleaning apparatus cleaning a grid electrode by having a brush come into contact with the grid electrode in the scorotron discharging apparatus. The cleaning apparatus is provided with a restricting member facing a brush holding member holding the brush and restricting the tip part of the brush.
