PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a timecode where each input video signal is in synchronization with a generated video signal mutually, without inputting any timecodes from the outside in an image processing unit having an input means for inputting the video signal of a plurality of systems, and a processing means for generating a video signal by processing the video signal of at least two systems inputted to the input means. SOLUTION: There are provided: a timecode generation means 23 for generating a timecode; and a timecode addition means 19 for adding the timecode generated by a timecode generation means 23 to the video signal generated by a processing means 21, and adding the timecode where the value of processing delay time in the processing means 21 is added to the value of the timecode generated by the timecode generation means 23, to the input video signal to the input means 1.
