PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyroelectric temperature compensated infrared sensor of high reliability for temperature compensation with a temperature compensated electrode not reacting with a thermal change by an infrared ray from a detection area, and reacting substantially with only a peripheral temperature change. SOLUTION: In this pyroelectric temperature compensated infrared sensor having structure arranged with a photoreception main electrode 2 and the temperature compensated electrode 3, on a pyroelectric ceramic plate 1, the temperature compensated electrode 3 is constituted of a plurality of split electrodes 33, the split electrodes 33 constituting the temperature compensated electrode 3 are arranged in a position not affected substantially by the infrared ray from the detection area, in a relation with an opening part 11 of a package. The photoreception main electrode is arranged in the substantially central part of the pyroelectric ceramic plate, and the split electrodes 33 constituting the temperature compensated electrode 3 are arranged in a position substantially symmetrical with the photoreception main electrode as the center. The split electrodes constituting the temperature compensated electrode are arranged in a position substantially symmetrical with the opening part of the package as the center, when viewed from a direction perpendicular to a main face of the pyroelectric ceramic plate.
