PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure detector capable of accurately detecting the magnitude and a direction of a pressure applied to the surface of a flexible object whose surface shape varies. SOLUTION: The pressure detector includes: an applied pressure detection conductive fiber body 3 for detecting the magnitude of the applied pressure; a plurality of pressure direction detection conductive fiber bodies 4 for detecting the angleθaround the circumferential turning direction; a conversion table 13 storing the relation of the resistance value of an applied pressure detection conductive fiber body 3 to the applied pressure, in advance; a conversion table 14 storing the relation between the ratio of resistance values and the angleθof the pressure direction detection conductive fiber bodies 4, in advance, for each applied pressure; and an arithmetic circuit 11 for obtaining the magnitude of the applied pressure and the angleθaround the circumferential turning direction of the applied pressure, on the basis of the detection values and the tables.
