<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which facilitates identification of a cause of defective printing, and also to provide a medium, a checking system, and a checking program. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device 1 prints pattern images of respective colors and a check sheet upon reception of an instruction of checking printing, and checks a scale generated in the process of predetermined-cycle operation of one of processing components printed in a processing component region in the check sheet, against a pitch of the defective printing emerging in the pattern image along a processing direction. If the scale conforms to the pitch of the defective printing, the processing component concerned is determined as the cause of the defective printing. On the other hand if the scale does not conform to the pitch of the defective printing, a scale of the other processing component is checked against the pitch of the defective printing, and in this manner the cause of the defective printing is determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
