PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify each of users of suitable information according to contents of an emergency broadcast. SOLUTION: A CPU 16 of a broadcast receiver comprises an importance decision section 162 which decides whether importance information received by a control signal reception section 10 is higher than preset importance, a character acquisition section 163 which acquires character string information included in the emergency broadcast through the control signal reception section 10 when it is decided that the importance information is higher than the preset importance, a count section 164 which counts frequencies of appearance of registered words included in the acquired character string information by the registered words, a frequency decision section 165 which decides whether the counted frequencies of appearance exceed a preset threshold frequency by the registered words, and a display control section 166 which reads emergency time display information corresponding to a registered word decided to have exceeded the threshold frequency out of a registered information storage section 171 and displays it on a display 151.
