PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an area monitoring sensor that can easily determine whether an intruding object is detected and can easily check the installation state of the area monitoring sensor.SOLUTION: The area monitoring sensor includes an intrusion detection unit 143 for detecting an intruding object in a monitoring area and generating a stop signal for stopping action of an external apparatus; a scan image generating unit 144 for generating a scan image made of a ranging line indicating the position of the object on a scan surface; a detection history storage unit 154 for storing the position of the intruding object as a detection history; a notification screen generating unit 155 for generating a notification screen indicating a detection state based on the detection history in a display manner varying according to whether the intruding object has been detected in the past: a display object selecting unit for selecting one of the scan image and the notification screen as a display target based on the operation of a user; and a screen display unit for displaying the selected display target.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
