PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve discrimination accuracy of the type of a printing medium in various printing media so as to provide a printing medium discrimination device more suitable for the needs of a user.SOLUTION: A printing medium discrimination device includes: a reading section of a printing result for obtaining the printing result by reading a printing medium on which a test pattern job for discriminating the type of the printing medium is printed by a printing engine; a blurring measuring section for measuring blurring of the printing result on the basis of the printing result read by the reading section of the printing result and the test pattern job; and a discrimination section of the type of the printing medium for discriminating the type of the printing medium on the basis of the blurring measurement result measured by the blurring measuring section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
