<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform distributed control without using a central control unit in a material handling system. SOLUTION: A material handling system 200 is provided with input nodes I1 and I2 , and output nodes O1 to O3 , and automatic organizing elements for forming a shortest adjacent communication route and a global communication route corresponding to the respective nodes. The system is also provided with a mixed constituting element 210, deflection constituting elements 220 and 240, and a linear constituting element 230 equipped with a process. An identification message having a unique identifier for the corresponding constituting element and optionally selected information is given through the shortest adjacent communication route, and by this identification message, a shortest adjacent constituting element is discovered and identified by each of the constituting elements 210 to 240. Also, by first deciding a characteristic or an attribute for an article, each of the constituting elements 210 to 240 decides a route for the article.</p> |
