A ball shut-off valve is welded into a pipe. The valve active components such as ball and seal are inserted vertically through an opening (8) in the ball housing (1). A control organ (15) rotates and controls a passage (16) with a ball plug (2) and a housing wall (10) with an inlet and outlet with sealing elements (4,5,6). The ball plug is part of a unit (11) and is connected to a half shell (3) by means of screws (12).
