PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve dimensional accuracy of a cage pocket part of a cross groove type constant velocity universal joint, by dispensing with heat treatment. SOLUTION: In this cross groove type constant velocity universal joint of exceeding six pieces of the ball number, the cage pocket part is cut by a laser, and a hardening layer is formed on a cutting surface.
