PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve element used in a flow passage capable of maintaining the state of a slit of lip portions positively closed with respect to a flow in a second direction flowing from a tip end side to a base end side and positively regulating the flow. SOLUTION: The valve element is used in the flow passage, includes the base end and the tip end, allows flow in a first direction from the base end side to the tip end side, and regulates the flow in the second direction from the tip end side to the base end side. The valve element is provided with a pair of substantially flat lips extending in the direction from the base end toward the tip end so as to converge, and a slit formed by the both lips joining together at the tip end.
