<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle movement amount estimating device capable of obtaining an accurate vehicle movement amount corresponding to captured images. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle movement amount estimating device 10 includes: a camera 20 which captures images of the periphery of a vehicle at prescribed time intervals; a captured image storage unit 22 in which a plurality of captured images obtained by the camera 20 are stored; a corrected image storage unit 26; a movement amount calculation unit 42 which calculates a movement amount of the vehicle on the basis of two captured and stored images; a vehicle speed sensor 30 which detects a movement amount of the vehicle; a gyro sensor 32; and a movement amount determination unit 40 which compares a first movement amount calculated by the movement amount calculation unit 42 with a second movement amount detected by the vehicle speed sensor 30 and so on and determines the first movement amount as the movement amount of the vehicle in the case of the difference between them being smaller than a prescribed value but determines the second movement amount as the movement amount of the vehicle in the case of the difference between them being larger than the prescribed value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
