PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which enables a stable methane fermentation treatment even when a target substrate is nearly an acetic acid single substrate, and further enables use of an active carbon as a methane bacterium-holding carrier by catching the active carbon flowing out of a peroxide decomposition process at the decomposing reaction of at least a part of hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid in an anaerobic filter bed or fluidized bed.SOLUTION: A method for treating peracetic acid-containing wastewater comprises: a peroxide decomposition step of decomposing at least a part of hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid in the peracetic acid-containing wastewater by bringing the wastewater into contact with the active carbon to discharge a decomposition-treated water including acetic acid; and an anaerobic treatment step of performing a methane fermentation treatment of acetic acid contained in the decomposition-treated water by treating it using an anaerobic filter bed or fluidized bed filled with the active carbon to thereby discharge an anaerobic treatment water. |
