To provide a ball joint that exerts a superior sealing property, while maintaining an appropriate assembled state of a dust cover relative to a ball stud even when a film unit of the dust cover is strongly pulled. In a ball joint 10 provided with a ball stud 12 having a ball-head unit 16 formed on a lower end of a stud unit 14, a socket 32 that houses the ball-head unit 16 so as to be pivotable therein, and has an opening unit 34 from which the stud unit 14 protrudes, formed on an upper end thereof, and a dust cover 36 having elasticity, which is provided with a small diameter opening unit 40 to be attached to the stud unit 14, and in this structure, the ball stud 12 has a flange unit 20 formed on the stud unit 14, and the dust cover 36 further has a guide unit 44 formed on the inner peripheral portion 42 of the small diameter opening unit 40, which is fitted to the outer peripheral portion 26 of the stud unit 14, with a fine gap being placed in a radial direction, an engaging unit 54 formed on a lower end portion 52 of the small diameter opening unit 40, which is made in contact with an upper surface of the flange unit 20 in the axial direction, and engaged therewith, and a reinforcing ring 56 that couples the guide unit 44 and the engaging unit 54 with high rigidity. |
