PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for efficiently executing a pre-printing process.SOLUTION: When detecting short-range radio signals transmitted from a radio communication device, an image forming apparatus identifies a user and acquires positional information on the user and printing information on the basis of information included in the short-range radio signals, compares the position of the user with a distance required for printing preparation, and determines whether to execute a printing preparation process in the case of printing by the image forming apparatus.
