PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing unit which effectively prevents entry of foreign objects such as water and mud into a bearing interior part even if an O ring disposed in a butted area between an inner side end part of a stationary ring and a cover member is eliminated and resolves inconvenience such as limitation of a conforming material caused by use of the O ring and thereby achieve significant cost reduction.SOLUTION: A bearing unit includes: an outer ring 1 connected to a vehicle body side; a hub ring 19 which is disposed so as to rotate relative to the outer ring 1; rolling elements 29 incorporated into spaces formed among the outer ring 1, the hub ring 19, and an inner ring 25 fitted in the hub ring 19; and a cover member 43 which is fitted in an inner side end part 9 of the outer ring 1 to make seal. The bearing unit has a butted area 63 in which an axial surface part 15 of the inner side end part 9 of the outer ring 1 and an axial surface part 59 located at an outer side of the cover member 43 are butted in an axial direction. A radial surface part 13 of the inner side end part 9 of the outer ring 1 and a radial surface part 61 of the cover member 43 are positioned so as to overlap with each other in a radial direction at an outer diameter side of the butted area 63.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
