PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor and a manufacturing method thereof capable of preventing reduction in voltage resistance.SOLUTION: A solid electrolytic capacitor 100 in an embodiment, includes: an anode lead 1; an anode body 2 from which the anode lead 1 extends; and a dielectric layer which is not shown in the figure; a solid state electrolyte layer 3; a cathode foil 4 which has a principal plane disposed over the surface of the solid-state electrolyte layer 3; an anode terminal 6; a cathode terminal 7; and an external resin 8, which are formed over the surface of the anode body 2 in order.
