PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an access controller for on-demand service system, which can prevent non-permitted access to the system with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The on-demand service system 1 is provided with an input means 6 by which a user can input a password. Only when the precise password is inputted, the decoder 5 of a set top box 2 is permitted to access to an inserted smart card 4 and to read and decode information stored in the card. Thus, non-permitted access to the system can be prevented with accuracy higher than a former system. Secret data stored in the smart card is protected against non-permitted reading by the password. |
