PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet winding shaft which is structured to be able to simultaneously generate a core engagingly locking function and a torque transmitting function by a simple construction and which has fewer parts to be inexpensive. SOLUTION: With a sheet winding shaft, plural winding parts 10 each of which has ring-like collars rotatably loaded through a pair of bearings 12, are arranged around a shaft 11, and a pair of thrust plates 20 which have smooth faces connected to inner races 17 and rotate integrally with the shaft 11 between a pair of bearings 12 of each winding part 10, a tunnel type rubber tube 23 loosely fitted on the shaft 11 between the pairs of thrust plates 20, lugs 15 which are positioned around the outer periphery of the rubber tube 23 and which are arranged at least at three places in the circumferential direction of the collar 13, and carbon members 27 which are connected to the side faces 25 of the rubber tube 23 and which are slidably in contact with the thrust plates 20 to form an air chamber 26, are provided.
