PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking force control device which is hardly influenced by disturbance, while making a braking means smoothly follow brake operation. SOLUTION: This braking force control device converts the quantity of brake pedal stepped on into a brake operation detection signal and controls a braking force control means on the basis of this brake operation detection signal. A braking force increase-decrease rate is obtained from the brake operating speed computed on the basis of the brake operation detection signal, and the braking force increase-decrease rate is changed when controlling a braking device 13 by a control signal generating means. In the case of using hydraulic pressure, first to third pressure applying solenoid valves 10A-10C, and first and second pressure reducing solenoid valves 11A, 11B having orifices of different diameters are provided as solenoid valves, and the optimum one is selected from among to pedal stroke speeds.
