A plasma display panel and a plasma display apparatus are provided to reduce the discharge voltage and make the discharge start voltage uniformly in each of cells in spite of the variations in distance between electrodes caused during manufacture. A plasma display panel(30) comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, a plurality of cells, and a pair of electrodes. The second substrate is opposed to the first substrate, and forms discharge space between the first substrate and the second substrate. The discharge space is encapsulated with a discharge gas. The cells are formed in the discharge space, and a discharge is caused to selectively occur for display. The electrodes are arranged in the respective cells, and control the discharge. The electrodes include edges arranged to be opposed with each other so as to cause a discharge. The distance between the opposed edges changes when viewed from the direction vertical to the first and second substrates. The edges have substantially the same shape in each of the cells.
