PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen indicator having high safety, capable of preventing elution of a redox dye in an oxygen indicating section constituting a part of the oxygen indicator and preventing color tone abnormalities caused by solving out of the redox dye in the conventional oxygen indicator, and further visually and surely detecting the presence of oxygen, and provide a packing material having the oxygen indicator function. SOLUTION: The oxygen indicator comprises a laminate of at least any one of the; a sealant layer, containing annular olefin copolymer or blend polymer with the annular olefin copolymer and polyolefin resin to cover the oxygen indicating section, consisting of oxygen indicator composition containing at least a redox dye, a reducing agent, a resin, and a solvent; or a ring-opening polymerization object of annular olefin or a hydrogenated object thereof; or a sealant layer containing the blend polymer with them and the polyolefin resin.
