PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which reliability deterioration on function is not generated irrespective of variation of environmental temperature. SOLUTION: In the optical module 101 which supports a light emitting element 114 and an optical fiber 115 by a lead frame 111 in a storage part of a resin frame 112 and in which a terminal part 1114 projecting from the lead frame extends to the outside of the frame, the lead frame is fixed to the frame on one edge. By this structure, action of stress at a joined part between the lead frame and the light emitting element resulting from difference of expansion coefficients between a resin material and a metal material by variation of the environmental temperature is prevented.
