In this absorbent article (1), a covering material (42) of an absorption body (4) has a prescribed basis weight and is configured from a nonwoven fabric that is anchored by a heat-sealed part and that includes a layer formed from long fibers. The long fibers are single-layer fibers formed by uniformly spinning a thermoplastic resin that comprises a single melted resin. In addition, an absorbent core (41) of the absorption body (4) has non-laminate fiber parts (43) formed therein. The covering material (42) that is on a skin-facing side and the covering material (42) that is on a non-skin-facing side are joined at the non-laminate fiber parts (43) via joining parts (8). The ratio of the area of the joining parts (8) to the area of the non-laminate fiber parts (43) is within a prescribed range, and the joining parts (8) are formed in a prescribed pattern. |
