The objective of the present invention is, simultaneously, to reduce the size of an electric power converting device and improve the productivity thereof, to suppress temperature increases in a smoothing capacitor, and to reduce motor noise. An electric power converting device (100) according to the present invention is provided with: smoothing capacitors (210 and 310); a first electric power converting unit (200) and a second electric power converting unit (300) which are connected in parallel; and a control unit (250) which generates PWM pulses on the basis of an output voltage vector and a PWM carrier. The control unit has an adjusting unit (255) which adjusts a prescribed output voltage vector value to obtain at least two different output voltage vector values arranged in such a way that the mean value thereof within one period of the PWM carrier is said prescribed output voltage vector value. The adjusting unit adjusts a first output voltage vector value in a first period, and adjusts a second output voltage vector value in a second period that is different from the first period. |
