PURPOSE: A terminal having a virtual keyboard, a virtual keyboard providing method and a recording medium are provided to standardize a text input window through a common virtual keyboard for text formatting, thereby implementing the text formatting through markup language interpretation. CONSTITUTION: An input attribute detecting unit (321) receives a virtual keyboard trigger and detects an attribute of a text input window. A virtual keyboard providing unit (322) provides a first virtual keyboard on a touch screen. In case of a formatted text attribute, the first virtual keyboard includes at least one text formatter. A virtual keyboard processing unit (324) formats a text currently inputted in the text input window according to the text formatter. A display processing unit (326) changes one of the size or arrangement of the text input window. A text formatter toggle key toggles the text formatter and changes one of the size or arrangement of the text input window.
