The processing means ( 15 ) is configured to receive information indicative of the distance between the obstacle (19) and the side (16) of the vehicle (10) from the detection means ( 12 ), receive information indicative of the turning degree angle of the vehicle (10) from the determination means ( 14 ), calculate a risk of at least a portion of the side (16) of the vehicle (10) hitting the obstacle (19) based on the distance between the obstacle (19) and the side (16) of the vehicle (10), the turning degree angle and the length of the vehicle (10), and activate means (20) for averting the risk of hitting the obstacle, if the calculated risk is greater than a threshold value. |
