A glow plug has improved heat radiation properties to prevent the glow plug from breaking in a short period of time. A glow plug (1) is provided with: a heater (11) having a front end inserted in the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine; a cylinder body (12) for supporting the base end of the heater; a housing (14) for supporting the cylinder body with the heating section of the heater protruding from the housing; and a pressure sensor (15) provided within the housing and detecting pressure within the combustion chamber. The glow plug (1) is further provided with: a pressure introduction chamber (142) formed within the housing between the pressure sensor and the cylinder body; and a communication passage (21) formed in the housing and/or the cylinder body and connecting the combustion chamber and the pressure introduction chamber. |
