A thermoelectric generator unit, in particular for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, has an outer housing (102) in which there is arranged at least one first inner duct (106) through which a hot fluid (H) flows, and has at least one thermoelectric module (112) which, on a hot side (SH), is in thermal contact with the first inner duct (106). Within the outer housing (102) there is arranged at least one elastic compensation element (116) which generates a clamping force which acts on the thermoelectric module (112). The elastic compensation element (116) is at least 60% composed of organic material.
