The invention relates to a liquid-crystal medium which contains at least one compound of the formula (I), wherein R1 and R1* independently of each other represent an alkyl or alkoxy group with 1 to 15 C atoms, wherein in said groups, one or more CH2 groups independently of one another can be replaced with (II), -CF2O-, -CH=CH-, (III), -O-, -CO-O-, -O-CO- such that O atoms are not directly linked to one another, and wherein one or more H atoms can be replaced with halogen, and A1 represents (IV), (V) or (VI), and L1 represents F, Cl, CF3, OCF3 or CHF2. The invention also relates to the use of said liquid-crystal medium for electrooptic purposes, particularly for shutter glasses, 3D applications, in TN-, PS-TN-, STN-, TN-TFT-, OCB-, IPS-, PS-IPS-, FFS-, PS-FFS- and PS-VA-IPS displays. |
